Unwrapping Some Illustrations for You

The Book

Lo Cole is the author/illustrator of "Ten on a Twig".  His new interactive board book is targeted towards babies and toddlers.  It is an adorable counting book that also incorporates colour recognition.

"Ten in a hurry, swimming in a line... Watch out, Red! GULP. Now there are nine."

Kids can watch a school of fish diminish in number as a big predator fish gobbles them up one by one.  These little fish are on their way to school and suddenly they become a snack .... until.... the smallest turns and yells out loud,  "WE WON'T BE EATEN!"  This startles the huge fish making him give a gigantic burp and out pops his nine prisoners.  Hurray!

The illustrations are fun die-cuts and I love that the smallest most insignificant fish becomes the brave superhero of the story.  Kids will love the playful book and ask for it to be read again and again.  I highly recommend it!
