The Book
This is such a sweet book for kids who love mighty machines. The book is full of a variety of big, vibrant coloured, personified trucks and the expressive text is written in rhyme.
Because of their daily hard work the big rigs are covered in dirt and grime. The construction site manager tries to gather the group together and demands that a good scrubbing and washing is in order.
At first the trucks balk and refuse his offer. No way! They don't want to waste valuable time getting soaked and lathered up. They want to continue hauling dirt, carrying bricks and lifting heavy beams. The trucks want to work!
Finally the trucks discover the purpose for their clean-up and they get on board for a massive sudsy bath. The purpose? The spotless team of truck giants are going to be showcased in a truck parade. How exciting is that!
They are so happy and proud as they roll down the street cheered on by a diverse crowd of big truck fans.
This book is a celebration of trucks and the reader is invited to cheer them on as the parade passes by. The illustrations are perfect and kids will love the book from beginning to end. I highly recommend it.
