What a spectacle

t is so nice to wake up and have the sun shining. The birds and little critters in our back yard are incredible. My husband faithfully puts out birdseed and peanuts each day and we are blessed to have a bustling, busy back yard full of creatures to observe and enjoy daily. I have seen bluejays, crows, blackbirds, sparrows, red-headed woodpeckers, canaries, hummingbirds, cardinals, chickadees and finches. We have a whole flock of pigeons that fly in each morning to dine. I counted 31 of them yesterday. I went outside with the puppies and looked up on our roof and there they all were...staring down at us...all 31 of them. We have seen a hawk plus a variety of squirrels, chipmunks, and yes, even rats. We live on a greenbelt, in the suburbs, and two days ago we spotted three deer prancing along the belt. We are so blessed and happy to have this fabulous luxury of wildlife and to have the means to feed them at our home. Soon it will be warm enough to fill up the bird bath. That is also a fun activity to watch as the birds bathe and splash around. God is cool. His creatures are awesome and I am so pleased to be a caretaker of his animal friends. Start getting those books together to read about your backyard's visitors. Or better still, grab a camera, start snapping and write your own stories. The kids will love it!
