A good revolution
Some revolutions cause pain, suffering and physical harm. The revolution that I am proposing will ease pain, suffering and mental anxiety. We must as adults take the responsibility to get out kids up and reading. We must make reading in our society a priority for our kids and future generations to come. It is up to us to pass the "reading torch" along. It will take our time, our money, our commitment but most of all our dedication and love to get this revolution in motion. Everyone needs to play a part. Parents, teachers, grandparents, community members, our government are all key players. Everyone who has the ability to read must jump in, volunteer, help kids in thea family, donate time and money to great reading causes, visit our libraries and take a stand on this very critical issue. Our kids are not succeeding. Their inability to read and drop-out rates in school are staggering. Our kids are being left behind and shut down. They are being held prisoners by being taught "to the test." The skills and love of reading are being sabotaged by the huge educational machine and nobody is coming to the defence of our defenceless kids!. Step up, speak out, write letters and articles to newspapers, jump in, care passionately,,,, our country and our world needs a radical "reading revolution" so our kids can read on successful for life's sake! Blessings and have a wonderful weekend.

I completely agree with you! The more kids see adults read- the more they will read. I try to give all of my nieces and nephews a book along with other presents at birthdays, Christmas, and other holidays. It is so fun to turn them on to a new series of books or authors they weren't familiar with. Reading is so important and such a great way to pass the time!
