About the book...

What a sweet book.  Yes, Monsters do have mommies, daddies, and  siblings too, making a lovely family unit just like yours.

Written in rhyme, the author points out all the love given by both parents to their special little Monsteretts:  playing peek a boo, cuddling them at night, helping with their grooming needs, calming fears, fixing boo boos when they occur, roughhousing in the backyard with daddy, helping with homework that must get done and helping their little ones discover the amazing world that is all around them, just to name a few.  Of course the one that is closest to my heart is the monster daddy who is snuggling his Monster-tot and reading to him under a tree .

The illustrations are clear, vibrant and enrich the text greatly.  This book is a perfect catalyst to share how your family functions and of course to reinforce the love and care that members of your family provide for one another.

Even though differences can occur ...

"Although sometimes they might not always agree,
And they may fight with
members of their family tree,
Monster Families have lots of love to share
Just like your family, they truly care."

I highly recommend Monsters Have Mommies.

About the author...

Angela was born in California to a military family. This meant that she got used to being the "new kid" in school every couple of years. It was hard trying to make new friends, but Angela discovered she had a knack for writing. In high school Angela began writing poetry and song lyrics. Expressing herself through writing seemed very natural. After becoming a Mom in 2003, Angela continued her storytelling to her own children. In 2009 she wrote and published her first rhyming children's book aimed at toddlers. Since then she has released several more children's picture books and released her first young adult romance series, The Alpha Girls.

Angela's husband, Ben Muse writes suspense/thriller books that can also be found on Amazon.
