Jake Bakes Cakes - a bookwrap

Seems like every creature on earth loves yummy cakes and Jake, the baker extraordinaire, wants to serve them up his delightful creations and bring a smile to their faces and happiness to their tummies.

Unwrapping...

Written and illustrated by Gerald Hawksley
Ages 3-6

Unwrapping some illustrations...

The illustrations are clever, colourful and expressive.  I love illustrations that are full of imagination and wit.

About the book...

This is a fun rhyming book that is created for the Kindle by the author of the bestselling (Kindle) children's book "If You Have A Hat".

Gerald Hawksley appropriately subtitles it, "A Silly Rhyming Children's Picture Book" and I know that kids will love it.

Jake is a master baker and he turns out cakes of every description.  He crafts an upside down cake for an acrobat, a carrot cake for some rabbits, a pumpkin cake for witches and their cats, a banana cake for a monkey, and a cheese cake for a mouse, just to name a few.

After a very busy day slaving near his hot oven and churning out  so many designer cakes, Jake is exhausted.  How does he relax after a hard days work?  He pitches off his hat, kicks back in his favourite chair, puts us his feet and .... the icing on his cake to reach his nirvana?  Well check it out and see for yourself.

This fun story will have imaginations working overtime trying to think up other cakes to bake for special recipients or even better yet?  Head off to the kitchen and bake a cake together that is made especially for your own personal tastes and enjoyment.   What type of cake would you choose to gobble down and savour to the very last crumb?

This book is perfect for beginning readers but all ages will enjoy the storyline and especially the whimsical illustrations.

About the author...

I am a children's book author and illustrator and part time astronaut. I like making Kindle books. I live in a small castle beside the River Snood with my chums Lord Treacle, "Mousy" Mousington and Otto Fishblanket. We often go treasure hunting and then come home and have tea and cake, and sometimes, if the weather has been particularly inclement, tea and teacakes.
