Unwrapping Some Wonderful Illustrations

The Book

This delightful interactive board book will become your little one's favourite for sure.  The illustrations are cartoonish, colourful, vibrant and full of expression and action, hitting all the elements that small kids love.

Safari animals ( bird, giraffe, monkey and crocodile ) pop up in a v-fold with their mouths open eagerly waiting an appropriate snack.  The reader must choose a food item (they are creatively dangling from the spine ) to feed the hungry critter.  Kids problem solve as they choose the perfect tidbit for each animal to enjoy.

The author has not only created a book but a game!  Brilliant!  The book will spark conversations, promote hand-eye coordination, deliver new vocabulary and encourage imaginations to bloom.  This would be a wonderful gift to give for a birthday or any other special occasion.  I highly recommend the book.

Meet the Author and Illustrator

Carly Madden is a children’s editor and author who lives in Essex with her husband and two children. She loves making books that spark curiosity and imagination.

Laurie Stansfield studied illustration at the University of the West of England, UK. She creates her art digitally using a loose line, lots of texture, and a limited but punchy color palette. The result is a style which is naive and fresh, confident and playful. Perfect for young readers! Laurie lives with her husband in Bristol, UK, and works out of an inspiring studio space which she shares with a handful of up-beat creatives.
