My review...

This prehistoric tale is written to showcase long, long time ago when dinosaurs still roam the earth and the earth is plagued with volcanoes, earthquakes and stark barrenness.

A baby Ankylosaurus hatches from his egg and finds himself all alone in this dangerous world without anyone to nurture and protect him.  He cries because of his abandonment and trudges along to seek companionship.  He bumps into a huge, Tyrannosaurus Rex who drools hungrily over him and is ready to pounce on the suffering little guy because he looks so yummy!

To the Tyrannosaurus's  utter surprise the little Ankylosaurus grabs onto his leg and calls out, "Daddy!"  Totally stunned the big "T"'s  heart completely melts by this loving encounter and he decides right then and there to take care of this little guy despite their differences.  The little tyke keeps telling him over and over, "I wanna be big JUST LIKE YOU, Daddy."

A mean, nasty Chilantaisauraus approaches and tries to snatch the little Ankylosaurus and gobble him up.  The big "T" rises to his full height and fights for the safety of his new little adoptee.  Big daddy saves his son from destruction. Proudly the big "T" teaches the little fellow the art of being a dinosaur causing the bond between them to deepen even more.

"Then, one evening, the Tyrannosaurus said to Yummy,  I taught you everything I could, Yummy.  So, it's time to say goodbye now."

How will baby Ankylosuarus respond to that announcement?  Will he be abandoned once again by someone he truly loves and wants to be with forever?  Will Tyrannosaurus Rex just leave the poor little guy to fend for himself in a world full of danger and run off and leave him?  Well run off he did...well they both did...and you will be surprised what happens next...........

Tatsuya Miyanishi explores in this colourful story what family really means and the ending he writes is very heartwarming and memorable indeed.
